The majority of my favorite musicals haven’t won the coveted Tony Award for Best Musical. In fact, few of them have. However, I’ve seen nearly 20 shows that did win this accolade, and I thought I would rank them purely based on my enjoyment of the show.
Now that the adrenaline from Rent Not Live is starting to wear off (and the fact that Hair Live was recently cancelled in favor of more family-friendly musicals), I’ve been thinking more and more about musicals that I’d like to see made into live TV productions.
Throughout the past six years, I’ve seen a lot of great shows, some I would even call my favorite of all time. However, here are five productions that stick out as the most unique theatre experiences I’ve ever seen.
